AWSM: the legendary (and slightly zany) boy band from the '80s and '90s that got back together in 2019 after a turbulent break-up in 1994. With a nod to their wild past, they now bring an energetic show full of rock and metal hits, tight performances and pure fun.

Many of you will remember AWSM as the boy band of the '80s and '90s. Many a
girl's and boy's heart was delighted by the looks and dance moves of these
androgynous all-rounders. Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Backstreet Boys and NSYNC have
indicated that AWSM was their great role model.

AWSM fell victim to their own success. The constant life on the road took its toll. The countless
groupies, booze and drugs as well as musical and artistic disagreements led in 1994
eventually led to an irreparable split in the band.

Until in 2019, the men again sought rapprochement with each other. Old disagreements were
buried and soon a world tour was planned along major stages in Burkina Faso,
Azerbaijan, the Faroe Islands and bar Het Musketiertje in Tietjerkstradeel.

AWSM's current repertoire includes a selection of the biggest rock and metal hits to date and is performed for you by:

- Gerrit Ooms, vocalist, virtuoso on the tambourine, part-time shepherd and Yoga teacher.
- Erik Labree, lead guitarist, who after an extremely successful period as an organic
greengrocer regained his passion as a stage dancer.
- John Brederode, drummer, who after an internship in the jungle of the Democratic Republic
of Congo abandoned the four-quarter beat for good.
- Stefan Brederode, bassist and backing vocalist, who as artistic director of a
ballet school, is responsible for the band's choreography.
- Hans Dijkhuizen, keyboardist, who played an important role in the rollout of the
fake news spread on social media about AWSM.
