Ever seen a St. Nicholas who has absolutely no desire to celebrate St. Nicholas?
All that hassle on your birthday with things that need to be arranged. Sometimes Sinterklaas also just wants to be in bed with a large portion of ice cream and a cheap bottle of wine.

Together with Pauperpiet, the saint makes it clear at every event that he is not looking forward to having to turn up again to deliver hundreds of presents. Anyway, when he is there, songs have to be sung. Of course not with the real St. Nicholas lyrics but variations like:
