In April 2019 it was announced that Gert would quit as Samson's owner but that he would have found a new owner. Fans had to wait until the end of that year but there were many names going around who would (possibly) be the new owner. In the very first farewell show it was finally announced that Marie, the daughter of, would take on the job as boss.

However due to the Corona pandemic(measures), plans were made differently, the many farewell shows planned in 2020 were eventually cancelled. But the children did not have to wait for the new shows because a new program (Samson and Marie) and new songs were recorded in the summer of 2020.
