I am cabaret performer who has written a play called " just yourself" I play this play in different theaters and or at festivals and company parties. The piece is based on my own life and everything I encounter in it. With a lot of recognition points, self-mockery and music a I search for myself.

Ilse Bakker, born October 2, 1999 in Barneveld and currently living in Arnhem, has always had a passion for the stage. As a young girl she dreamed of being in the spotlight. Her love for performing began at an early age, when she received a fake microphone as a gift on her fifth birthday. Since then, Ilse has been singing, acting and dancing since she was eight years old.
After getting her high school diploma, Ilse was admitted to The Dutch Musical Academy in Arnhem. During this three-year course, she completed fantastic internships and worked with leading professionals in the field. One of her highlights was her role as background singer during the Salvation Army Art and Theater Gala, where she got to work with artists such as Karin Bloemen, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Marc Forno and Edsila Rombley.
A notable moment during her studies was her graduation project in the third year, for which she wrote her own solo performance called "I'm laughing myself to death!". This cabaret piece, which highlighted her own life with comedic undertones, was enthusiastically received and earned her the highest possible grade.

Although she performed various work in and around the theater after graduating in 2019, her interest in cabaret continued to grow. In 2022, for example, she participated in the annual spectacle "The Passion" in Doetinchem as a background singer. However, her heart was still with cabaret. She adapted her graduation performance into a new show called "Gewoon Jezelf," in which she uses self-mockery, humor and music to question what it means to be "yourself" and what life's expectations are.
Ilse performed her show several times, including at Theater de Leeuw and at the Sonsbeek Theater Avenue Festival in Arnhem, where it was enthusiastically received. Her talent did not go unnoticed; she participated in the Amsterdam Student Cabaret Festival 2023 and reached the finals, after which she completed a successful finalist tour.
