Son Mieux's music is characterized by personal stories and modern productions, bringing together genres such as electronic pop, alternative pop, and indie pop. Their 2022 hit "Multicolor" was a breakthrough moment and became one of the most played songs on Dutch radio.

Son Mieux, a seven-piece band from The Hague, has taken the Dutch music scene by storm with their unique blend of danceable pop, disco influences and rich, 1970s-style arrangements. Founded in 2015 by singer and songwriter Camiel Meiresonne, the band began as a solo project but quickly grew into a full-fledged band with a diverse lineup. Their debut album "Faire de Son Mieux" was released in 2019 and marked the beginning of their rise in the music world.

Son Mieux began in 2015 as the solo project of Camiel Meiresonne from The Hague, who previously played as a keyboardist in Soul Sister Dance Revolution and as a vocalist in All Missing Pieces. Initially, he wanted to perform as a singer-songwriter and it was in that capacity that he recorded the song Easy. Soon after, he was invited by the band Splendid to be the support act for their upcoming tour. During the preparations, however, Meiresonne came to the realization that he did not want to take his songs out into the world as "that guy with the guitar." During the tour, he played with Timo Prins and Chayenne van der Kooij. Afterwards, the formation was expanded with Wrister Meiresonne, with whom he had previously played in All Missing Pieces.[1] In 2015, after the first single Easy, the band was named 3FM Serious Talent,[2] and on October 15, 2015, they made their television debut in De Wereld Draait Door.[3]

In 2018, Wrister left the band. He was succeeded by Thijs van Teijlingen. The formation was further expanded with Maud Akkermans and multi-instrumentalist Quinten Meiresonne (youngest brother of Camiel), who played as bassist in The Consolers, All Missing Pieces and Taymir, among others. In this line-up, work continued on the debut album, which was released on February 8, 2019 under the title Faire de Son Mieux. The presentation of this album took place at a sold-out Paard in The Hague on the release date. The album made its entrance into the Album Top 100 after one week at position 16.

In early 2021, their latest hit 1992 was in week 3 NPO Radio 2 TopSong on NPO Radio 2 and in week 5 Megahit on NPO 3FM. On April 27, 2021, the band released the single Drive. In week 20, Drive became Megahit on NPO 3FM. On July 28, 2021, the band released the follow-up to Drive, called Can't Get Enough. This single was voted NPO Radio 2 TopSong in week 31. During this period, the band was also house band for six days of Studio Tokyo, the NOS evening program on NPO 1 surrounding the Olympic Games. Every day Son Mieux played songs that were larded live with the highlights of the Olympic day.

The summer of 2022 marked the final breakthrough to an audience of millions with the single Multicolor. It became their first Dutch Top 40 hit on the commercial radio station Qmusic and immediately a top five hit. Multicolor was the most played record on Dutch radio for weeks and also reached the No. 1 position in the latest public chart, the Mega Top 30 on NPO 3FM, broadcast on Friday, September 2, 2022. It reached the 2nd position in the 538 Top 50 and the 24th position in the Single Top 100.

After hitting several Dutch festivals, such as Pinkpop, Lowlands and Down the Rabbit Hole, in 2022 and 2023, the band performed twice in a sold-out AFAS Live on November 23 and 24, 2023. In October of the year, the band released their new song Tonight, which was recorded at the Thomas Church in Amsterdam. Shortly after it was released, the band announced that Quinten Meiresonne had left the band to focus on producing rather than playing songs. He remained associated with the band in that role. During the first performance at AFAS Live, it was announced that Michiel Mutsaerts would fill Meiresonne's spot as a permanent band member.
