Step into the world of the conductor, where leadership and communication take place without words. In this interactive and inspiring presentation, participants will discover the art of leadership in a whole new way. The presentation is accompanied by a string ensemble.
The conductor does not communicate with words but conveys emotions and guides the orchestra solely with his baton. How does he inspire and motivate his team, both during rehearsals and on stage?
It is actually more of a workshop. The presentation begins with a short concert, after which Marnix explains how conducting works and why a baton is used. This is followed by interactive examples, together with the ensemble, exploring leadership, inspiration, connection, and the expression of emotions. Finally, the audience actively participates to experience what it feels like to be conducted. Some participants even get the chance to conduct the orchestra themselves, just like a real maestro—guaranteed to create joyful moments!

About Marnix Willem Steffen
Marnix Willem Steffen is not only a renowned conductor but also an inspiring guest speaker. Having lived abroad for 20 years, his musical journey has taken him to grand concert halls and small churches, from the Andes to the Amazon. The Dutch magazine Luister published an extensive article on his life and remarkable musical career.
In the Netherlands, he has recently conducted PHION (formerly Het Gelders Orkest). He has spoken for Porsche, DP World, Yara, and Internations, among others, and holds a Leader-Coach certificate from the Institute of Neurocoaching. Marnix stands out for his ability to present musical and cultural topics in an engaging and accessible way, while also encouraging audience interaction.
