Café Bohème is a semi-acoustic cover duo from Rijswijk (zh) with two singers and live piano accompaniment. What brings this duo together is a shared passion for art, culture and French-language music!

With a French-language act of 2 x 45 minutes they surprise you with the most beautiful French chansons, from the legendary work of Édith Piaf to the contemporary hits of Stromae and Barbara Pravi.

Chansonnières Mireille Nijhuis and Saskia Hendriks are well matched and complement each other harmoniously. Their act is constantly evolving and they make full use of their broad background in the performing arts (including cabaret, musical theater and dance).

Since their debut performance in September 2023, they have performed at various venues and events, including:

Café Bohème is distinguished by unique two-part arrangements. Mireille's clear soprano voice goes very well with the sophisticated French chansons, while Saskia's spirited piano playing and warm, dark vocals add a lively bohemian twist to the repertoire.

Variations in repertoire/band formation:

We can also be booked as a musical trio (piano, vocals and double bass) for an additional charge of 200 euros or as a band (piano, vocals, double bass/bass and drums/percussion) for an additional charge of 400 euros.

If desired, the French-language repertoire can also be alternated with English-language jazz/lounge covers (see repertoire list).

Technical facilities:

The above price variations assume the presence of a PA system (including monitors) and electric or acoustic piano of the venue itself. Café Bohème has its own microphones (Neumann KMS 104 and Shure Beta 87A).

The gigs use high-quality equipment to ensure the best sound quality. They understand that not every venue is fully equipped and therefore offer the option of bringing their own equipment. However, this involves additional logistical efforts and costs. Therefore, they charge a surcharge for these services.
