Sieneke broke through to the general public in 2010 when she was chosen by Pierre Kartner, better known as Father Abraham, to represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Ik ben verliefd (Sha-la-lie)." Although the song did not advance to the final, Sieneke received a lot of attention and became a well-known name in the Dutch music world.

Nijmegen singer Sieneke has enjoyed national fame since her participation in the National Song Contest in 2010. With the song Ik Ben Verliefd (Sha-la-lie), she not only managed to win the Festival, but also a place in the hearts of many a Dutchman. Singles like Doe Dat Nooit Meer and Vita Bella ranked high in the Dutch charts. A lot also changed in Sieneke's private life such as her marriage to Jan and the birth of her baby daughter Rosalie. In 2014, she recorded a duet with Django Wagner. The record appears on Django's album Samen which was awarded the Edison Pop. In the summer of 2015, Sieneke scores a hit with Ik Heb Van Liefde Mogen Dromen, followed by smooth Het Gat Van Deur. In 2016, Lieg Toch Eens Een Beetje Beter is released, which is high on the lists. She also makes a musical outing in her duet with Popstars winner Wesley Klein. These hits are on her new album De Liefde Die Lacht... which is full of smooth uptempo songs interspersed with moody ballads. Sieneke shows that she has found her musical niche.
Also from this album is her hit Donkere Dagen (Dark Days), with which Sieneke proves to have earned the title Princess of Lifelong Song more than ever. She scored another big hit with her latest single Lievelingsmelodie.
