Such is Rick's interest in motorsports that he quit his job to work as a freelance motorsports journalist.
He has not regretted that for a second.

Like many drivers, Rick begins his motorsports career in karting and eventually enters Formula 1.
For many years he traveled all over the world with the Formula 1 circus, until the moment he wanted to look further and got involved in other forms of motorsport besides Formula 1. From the 24 Hours of Le Mans to the Dakar Rally and from everything that happens on the Zandvoort circuit to American motorsports, such as the Indy 500 and NASCAR. Even now Rick is often present at the races. For example, as a reporter at Ziggo Sport.

Rick has therefore become an all-round motorsport journalist and insider who has experienced all major motorsport events worldwide. From dozens of Formula 1 Grand Prix's to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Indy 500, NASCAR, the World Rally Championship, etcetera.

In his nearly thirty years in motorsports, Rick has worked for several Dutch and international companies and media and has built a large network. Nowadays he can often be seen and heard on Ziggo Sport or he is active for his own video production company SportcastNL.
