Rick Winkelman's interest in motorsports was such that he quit his job to work as a freelance motorsports journalist.
He didn't regret that for a second.

Like many drivers, Rick began his motorsports career in karting and eventually entered Formula 1.
He traveled all over the world with the Formula 1 circus for many years, until the time when he wanted to look further and got involved in other forms of motorsports besides Formula 1.

As a result, Rick has become an all-round motorsports journalist and insider who has witnessed all major motorsports events worldwide. From dozens of Formula 1 Grand Prixs to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Indy 500, NASCAR, the World Rally Championship, etcetera.

In his nearly thirty years in motorsports, Rick has worked for several Dutch and international companies and media and has built a large network. Nowadays he can often be seen and heard on Ziggo Sport.
