In 2007, Johan Foliant, then 47 years old, was diagnosed with ALS. The neurologist gave him only three years to live. Now, many years later, Johan, along with his caregiver Marieke Meischke, shares his remarkable story and insights as an inspirational speaker....

I am an expert by experience on living with ALS and its caregiving. As an energetic speaker, I would like to take you and Marieke on a special journey full of insights, humor and resilience.
During our interactive lecture we use the character Alfons Alsema and passages from our books to make the chaos in caregiving visible.IJohan shares his personal experiences and reveals the challenges he faced during his adventurous journey through the caregiving jungle. Marieke and Johan will engage the audience in conversation, focusing on questioning, laughter and inspiration.
