Orquesta Salsabor is born to salsa.

Orquesta Salsabor is an energetic salsa big band featuring musicians from Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela, and the Netherlands. The group performs classics from the traditional Latin and salsa big band repertoire of Cuba (such as Machito and Benny Moré). In addition to Salsabor, the band plays the New York Salsa Dura style from the ’70s and ’80s—music originating from “el barrio” in New York (salsa icons such as Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colón, and the New York Spanish Harlem Orchestra).

Orquesta Salsabor has been performing on stages in the Netherlands and abroad for about 20 years. They have played at numerous festivals and salsa dance parties. The group has toured Germany, Poland, and, most recently, Belgium, and has produced several CDs (the most recent is titled *El Otro Sabor de la Clave*).

Salsabor performs regularly at a series of self-organized venues throughout the season. They occasionally spice things up by inviting international guest artists, such as Jimmy Bosch from New York and Maite Hontelé from Colombia.

The ingredients for an evening with Orquesta Salsabor are a catchy repertoire, swinging salsa music, good vibes, and a truly impressive, rich sound!
