Until recently, Barbara Baarsma was Director of Knowledge Development at Rabobank, as well as bearing ultimate responsibility for RaboResearch. In this she was concerned with the Rabobank-wide knowledge agenda and the structuring of Rabobank as a knowledge organization.
Barbara is also a professor of market forces and competition economics at the University of Amsterdam and a Crown member of the Social and Economic Council (SER). Barbara is also a member of the Corporate Governance Monitoring Committee and a member of the National Icon Jury and the DNB Academy Advisory Board.
Because of her experience, Barbara is regularly asked to help think about policy issues at ministries. In the past, for example, she was chair of the Macro Management Instrument Committee for
Specialist Medical Care. Barbara was also a member of the Review Committee National Public Broadcasting, the Committee on the Structure of Dutch Banks, and the Committee on Home Services.
