About Danny
At the age of twelve, Danny started volunteering at Het Net, one of the first and largest internet providers in the Netherlands. He also helped build Clubs.nl - the early forerunner of Facebook. In 2002, he founded his first company of his own. Danny was only 15 years old at the time, which earned him the title of most successful young entrepreneur in the Netherlands.

In 2004, he dropped out of high school early. In the following years, he founded several businesses of his own; a software company, a hosting provider, legal consulting firm and a Valentine's Day chocolate delivery service.

In 2007, Mekić was admitted to study law at the University of Amsterdam. He has since joined many Dutch colleges and universities as a guest lecturer. Since 2008, Danny has been giving lectures and acting as chairman of the day.

In 2011, Danny founded NewTeam; an international consulting firm specializing in strategic boardroom consulting for large organizations in the areas of technology, media and communications, innovations, new business models and digital transformations. NewTeam works for 40 of the largest organizations in the Netherlands and several government departments, but also has many international clients. Danny has also been appointed to an advisory committee of the Ministers of Economic Affairs and Education, Culture and Science with the aim of stimulating entrepreneurship in education.

Besides NewTeam, Danny is currently focusing on building his companies HackathonFactory, InnovationRecruitment, StrategyCooker, StartupCreator and the recently launched innovation training program Innovation Accelerator.
