Kees Tol was born in 1982 in Volendam. In 2006 he finds his calling as a producer at the production company FTV. The television world turns out to be a perfect match and so he ends up at TROS, where he gets his own contribution in the reallife soap series Gewoon Jan Smit. In addition to his work for AVRO-TROS, KEES TOL has been working for years for the TV channel Talpa, including the popular housing program for SBS6 VT Wonen.
In 2013 Kees Tol participates in Wie is de Mol, and eventually turns out to be the mole. In the same year he wins the Talent Award during the Televizier-Gala.

Since December 2019, Kees Tol has been one of the ambassadors for the Reading and Writing Foundation. With regularity, he dedicates himself to various online campaigns of the foundation. With these, he motivates many people to still learn to read and write better. Kees also presents at foundation events, such as the annual Taalheldenprijs. Kees has everything it takes to put people at ease. But he also gets them enthusiastic easily and quickly in, for example, a quiz. With his charms, his clear way of talking and his cheerful presentation style, he is able to involve various people in the approach to low literacy on behalf of the Reading and Writing Foundation.
