With this quartet you are guaranteed to book a dynamic, upbeat and swinging performance.
The audience is taken to the atmosphere of the swinging thirties in New Orleans with hits from that era. The quartet plays songs by the likes of Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington on saxophone, trumpet, guitar double bass. But this band also has 2 singers because both the guitarist and double bassist sing themselves. Mostly in two voices, they sing songs known from Billie Holiday, Cab Calloway and Ella Fitzgerald, for example, "Puttin' on the Ritz," "Happy Feet" and "Exactly like you," "It don't mean a thing," "Take the A train" and "Saint Louis Blues.
It is impossible to sit still to the rousing live music of this band.
The virtuoso trumpeter Menno Daams and the lyrical saxophonist Ronald Jansen Heijtmajer master the style like no other.
Our performances usually last more than two and a half hours (receptions, festivals etc), then we play 3 sets of 35 minutes, the rest is intermission. But this is negotiable.
We bring our own professional sound set, which is included in the price.
Every year this band plays during the Red Light Jazz Festival on the Zeedijk in Amsterdam.
With compact equipment and batteries on wheels, we move easily between, for example, shoppers, markets or other areas.
The 4 members of this quartet have been playing together since 2018 as the house band
of café In 't Aepjen on the Zeedijk in the heart of Amsterdam.
