Born in Cape Town, raised in Rotterdam; singer-songwriter Lisa Lukaszczyk translates her stories with her band Luka into quirky, dreamy pop. Honest and personal, but always recognizable and intriguing. Inspired by artists like Lianne La Havas, Feist and Bon Iver, Luka exhibits a wide range of sounds. Dreamy electro-pop, folk, soul, from spatial soundscapes to exciting beats.
In addition to dynamic band shows, Luka regularly plays intimate solo concerts.

After the successful release of the self released debut EP 'Welcome, Generation Everything' in early 2018, she played more than 80 shows throughout the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary and Italy. Highlights included shows at Sziget Festival and Motel Mozaique.

In 2019 Luka will spend a lot of time writing and recording new music. Together with producer Wannes Salomé (Klangstof), studio engineer Sam Jones (a.o. Luwten, Klangstof, Kim Janssen) she is working on her debut album in Wisseloord, with guest contributions of a.o. Yori Swart and Mark Schilders. With modern everyday themes about getting loose from 'the must' and looking for space for 'wanting', living in a generation of endless opportunities. The songs are a message from Luka to herself, but seemingly come just as loudly to her listeners.

In 2020 it's time for new music. The new single (with accompanying music video) 'Lost Today / Found Tomorrow' was released at the end of Janauri via Snowstar Records. The prelude to the new one which will be released in October 2020.
