RESTLESS SINNER


Along with the release of their live album “The Game is Over,” the blues/rock band formerly known as Raymunda unveiled its new name: Restless Sinner.
This also marked the start of a new direction—one that, while rooted in blues and rock, also makes room for elements virtually unknown in this scene, such as humor and audience interaction.
Unique is the role of frontwoman and singer Raymunda, who ranks among the Netherlands’ most accomplished blues/rock vocalists.
This led to several high-profile performances.
The well-known Life I Live festival (King’s Night) in The Hague, with approximately 6,000 enthusiastic attendees. Breda Jazz, with 22,000 attendees. They were the crowd favorites at The Dutch Blues Foundation. They won the Four Roses Bourbon Award with an original song.
They headlined in Vlaardingen, Bergen op Zoom, Breda, The Hague, Veghel, Emmeloord, Zoetermeer, Katwijk, at various car and motorcycle rallies, and on ships.
A testament to their quality is the fact that Angus Young (guitarist for AC/DC) was very eager to perform with them at the festival in Vlaardingen, but unfortunately, this performance could not take place—much to the disappointment of Restless Sinner and the organizers—due to an accident involving the bassist the day before the show; perhaps there will be a chance to make up for it next year.
As mentioned earlier, entertainment and interaction with the audience are key elements, and
elements such as humorous blues/rock songs in Dutch are included in the program upon request.
Another key element is that, if desired, songs written specifically for the occasion—taking into account the venue, special guests, gatherings, etc.—can be performed.

Sometimes a band suddenly emerges that grabs you by the throat, and Restless Sinner does exactly that with *The Game is Over*.
An album that doesn’t ask for your attention—it simply demands it.
During the album presentation in The Hague at Musicon, it became immediately clear: this isn’t a polished studio record, but an honest, raw, and sincere blues-rock experience.
Recorded live, just as it should be.
Because real music is something you have to feel.
Raymunda Vervaeck is a frontwoman in a class of her own.
A golden voice, a big mouth, and a small heart—and when she sings, the soul bursts off the walls.
Her voice sounds like whiskey with a widow’s cigarette for breakfast and has that addictive, lived-in edge that you instantly fall in love with.
But let’s not forget the rest of the band.
Newcomer Cary van Rheenen adds, with his blues harp, exactly that extra layer of grit that good blues rock demands. Guitarists Amon Gijzemijter and Martin Waliana prove that there’s one thing better than rock, and that’s blues rock.
Bassist Robin Kraag and drummer Pat de Wolf lay down a rhythm section so tight you could balance a beer on it.

Restless Sinner, formerly Raymunda, returns with *The Game is Over*, an energetic live album recorded at Hedon. With raw blues-rock in the style of AC/DC and Janis Joplin, the band delivers seven explosive tracks and one psychedelic interlude. Impressive and captivating.

Restless Sinner is the band that made a big splash in 2019 under the name Raymunda with the album *All of Me*. A few years and some lineup changes later, the group led by singer Raymunda is back with another smash hit of an album. *The Game is Over* was recorded live last October at Hedon in Zwolle; the latest release features eight tracks, and on no fewer than seven of them, the band plays with a frenzied intensity best described as the musical equivalent of what is known in military circles as the scorched-earth tactic. After all, they wreak absolute havoc on stage, and once the band has finished their rampage, they leave behind such an impressive display of power that any band unlucky enough to follow Restless Sinner faces an impossible task.
