UPSTREAM consists of professional musicians: singer Chaja van der Heide and guitarist André van Solinge, possibly supplemented by a bass player.
They play covers but also their own songs which seamlessly fit the cover repertoire.

Upstream is suitable for a variety of occasions such as (grand) pubs, gallery openings, receptions, private parties, festivals and theaters. The band plays their own work as well as recognizable covers and thus manages to appeal to a wide audience. Upstream can be booked as a duo with two guitars, two vocals and percussion, but also as a trio with guitar, vocals, percussion and bass, depending on the desired setting and atmosphere.

The repertoire can be described as "Gold from Old & New from Gold" and consists of music by artists such as Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin, Chris Isaak, Steve Miller Band, Dolly Parton, Shocking Blue, Doobie Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Jimi Hendrix, Nina Simone and Fleetwood Mac, supplemented by many others. The result is a broad, accessible and varied mix of styles: danceable where possible, but also wonderful to listen to relaxed. For both large and small occasions, Upstream always provides a successful musical setting.
