With the Dutch albums Re-Play , Checkmate , Gordon & Re-Play, Vroeger Voorbij and Op Eigen Benen Alwin Burke , Henk Waarde , Samuel de Wit and Mark Dakriet grew into a household name within the Dutch musical landscape under the name RePlay

The men from Re-Play met each other in high school and participated in the Soundmixshow in 1992 under the name The Pasadenas. They also released a number of songs in Germany under the name 4 To Soul. During a tour in Gran Canaria, group member Samuel got the idea to switch to singing in Dutch. The singer was exposed to Spanish-language remixes of Boyz II Men and Toni Braxton, which inspired him to try to convince the other group members. Samuel got a lot of positive feedback on this and so the men decided to definitely sing in Dutch

In 1996 Alwin , Henk , Samuel and Mark debuted under the name Re-Play with the single Ik Denk Aan Jou. In 1997 the successor Kijk Om Je Heen was released. With this single they scored their first Top40 hit. The guys didn't sit still and next summer they brought the song Ala Day. With this, Re-Play scored their first Top10 hit. Their debut album appeared in 1998 and stayed in the Album Top100 for 14 weeks.

Re-Play worked with Gordon for the song Never Never Again. This song was submitted for the Song Contest but was unfortunately not selected. The song did grow into their biggest hit. Never Never Re-Play came in at 5 in the Top100

In 2000 Re-Play signed a new record deal with Colombia Records where they released their second album Checkmate. The album was a big success and was in the Top100 for 36 weeks. The group won a TMF Award with the album. Two years later they picked up their old collaboration with Gordon and released the album Gordon & Re-Play (G&R). This is where the monster hits Weet That I Love You and So Long came out. TMF awarded Re-Play and Gorden another TMF Award.

The men of Re-Play left Colombia Records in 2005 and founded their own music label called Music Force. On their own music label they released the album Op Eigen Benen. This was followed by a theatre tour called De Trip. Their performance was in the theme of Soul and Motown records from the past. This was so well received that the men decided to release the English-language album Dancing The Night Away. This album featured Soul and Motown classics.
