The band The Art of Swing is a unique formation that combines classics from the Great American Songbook with contemporary elements. In addition, they put well-known Pop songs in a jazzy jacket. In this way they make jazz accessible to a wide audience.

They are a popular band at festivals; they have performed at jazz festivals in Zevenaar, Helmond, Hilversum, Lelystad, Laren and Gouda. At the latter festival they won the prestigious Cas Berkhout audience award.

What makes The Art of Swing unique?
1. Sultry Vocals by Bert Kunst:
With his deep, warm voice, Bert Kunst knows how to perfectly convey the authentic feel of swing and jazz music.
2. Swinging Rhythms:
The band mixes the rhythms of the 30s and 40s with modern grooves, making their performances not only nostalgic but also danceable. Their music takes you back to the days of big bands, but with a contemporary twist.
3. Energetic live performances::
The Art of Swing is known for their energetic live performances. With a permanent lineup of talented jazz musicians, they always manage to keep the show exciting and lively. Solos are different every performance and a joy to listen to.
4. Influences from Jazz, Latin and Pop:
The band puts their own spin on familiar songs through a mix of Jazz, Pop and Latin. Latin, by the way, comes naturally with a Colombian-born pianist as a band member.
5. Something for everyone:
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ray Charles, Beatles, Stones, Doors, Duran Duran and David Bowie, just some of the names that pass by during a performance of The Art of Swing.... A lot of music from the 60s, 70s and 80s is popular again with the youth because of TikTok. As a father of it is very nice when you hear songs from your own youth coming out of your daughter's room again. Music, then, for young and old alike.
6. For every occasion:
The Art of Swing is versatile and in different line-ups; duo, trio, quartet or combo. If you need background music during a reception or dinner, choose our duo (piano and vocals) or trio (double bass, guitar and vocals). Need tasty dance music during your wedding, gala or diner dansant, book the full line-up (vocals, guitar, piano, bass and drums).
7. Free DJ at the end of the performance with full line-up. Our sound engineer, also DJ, will "spin" for another 2 hours at the end of our performance.
