Septeto Camaleón plays all the timbres of Argentine Tango and consists of an international company of tango musicians and has a unique line-up of bandoneon, bass, piano and string quartet.
Septeto Camaleón is an ensemble founded in early 2016 by an international company of tango musicians who found each other at the world music department of the Rotterdam Conservatory. The ensemble distinguishes itself through its unique line-up where chamber music and tango come together. The strings play melancholic polyphonic lines that are reminiscent of film music from the 1950s. Bandoneon, double bass and piano are added to the mix, adding the energetic rhythms of the tango. The name of the group, comes from the choice of repertoire that includes the many styles of Argentine tango. Like the romantic tango style of the group ''los Astros del Tango'' or the more modern Astor Piazzolla
With Gustavo Cabrera (Argentina), Radboud Post (Netherlands)
and Nea-Maria Korpelainen (Finland) on violin, Ivan Nogueira on cello (Spain), Alexander Vocking (Netherlands) on double bass, Simone van der Weerden (Netherlands) on bandoneón and Robin El-Hage (Netherlands) on piano, Septeto Camaleón is a very inspired and refreshing young group that brings the folk music from Argentina to the stage in a very tasteful way.
