Delise doesn't need much to take you completely into her music. Give her a guitar and a piano and with her clear and powerful voice, she manages to captivate her listeners with vulnerable, pure, but sometimes quirky songs. Delise plays covers as well as her own songs.

Delise is back from nowhere, but where did she come from? Already at the age of 12, she starts singing and writing songs. When she is 14, her songs are noticed by Robin Groenveld, creator and organizer of Vrienden van Amstel LIVE. He puts her in contact with Bas Kennis (BLØF) and Holger Schwedt, with whom she works for several years. She is also accompanied by Anouk Teeuwe's backing band.

Even at a young age, Delise wins a number of awards; for example, she and her band reach second place at the Battle of the Bands in London and receives an honorable mention for her song Everything Breaks at the International Songwriter Competition in the United States. She also performs at Ahoy' during The Chrystal Ball Party and sings the song Like an Angel for the movie The Schnitzel Paradise. In 2008, Delise takes part in the program Rock Nation on RTL 5 and participates in X-Factor on RTL 4.

Still, she does not dare an existence as an artist. Delise: "I chose to study law and then to work as a lawyer. I wanted to become a lawyer; set up my own law firm, that was my plan." Delise thus closes the chapter of making music for herself. She does, however, continue to write songs and perform occasionally. For example, she sings the song Toch een beetje thuis in for the program De Verandering and during her studies she is elected Best Songwriter of the VU Amsterdam and Leiden University.

After several years working as a lawyer, she returned to music in 2016. The reason for this is a burnout in 2015. In her own words, she couldn't do without making music. "I got so much energy from making music; with everything else before that I was doing, the energy just drained away from me," Delise says of this. A lot has changed, though; for example, her style has become more pop and she writes her songs in Dutch.

In 2018, Delise releases her debut album Bladzijde 1, collaborating with Henk Pool, Matthijn Buwalda and MaddoC (Damascus), among others. Bladzijde 1 is nominated for several Zilveren Duif Awards 2019 and receives attention on several radio stations, including 100% NL and NPO Radio 1 (among others by Frits Spits). In the fall of 2019, Delise provides the support act at the Not of this world tour of Damascus.

On October 11, 2019, Delise will launch the single Spreid je vleugels together with The Rule of Law. This song is a preview of more new music from Delise. Her new EP Small Things - due out in spring 2020 - combines, even more than her debut album Page 1, brightly sung and narrative pop songs (à la Miss Montreal) with her faith.

"The album title refers to those insignificant, yet important things in life that you quickly overlook," Delise explains. "Little things is about looking differently at those everyday moments. And about gratitude."

In doing so, Delise does not shy away from social and societal themes. Delise: "Worries in life can sometimes seem overwhelming. The realization that if God is with you, you have nothing more to fear is the common thread in my pop song Overcoming (inspired by the Bible story of Job) but also in Connected, in which Elbert Smelt of Trinity has a part. In addition, I wrote Heroes in collaboration with JellowZorg. That song is a big 'thank you' to people working in healthcare."

For the creation of Little Things, Delise again collaborated with Henk Pool (Marco Borsato, Guus Meeuwis) and Reyer (worship leader, producer and songwriter of Jesus Victorious). Songs like Silent Fall, Little Things and Overcoming, are vulnerable yet faith-building uptempo songs with a recognizable message.

Delise's EP Small Things was released on March 28, 2020. The EP was released on September 25, 2020 at De Theaterbakkerheij in Gouda. During the theater concert, Ralph van Manen was guest artist.

Delise released her single "Storm on the Lake (Rembrandt)" on January 20, 2021. The song is based on the painting "Christ in the storm on the Sea of Galilee. She co-wrote it with Elly Zuiderveld. On June 9, 2021, Delise released the duet 'Bij U is het goed' in collaboration with Lars Gerfen. In 2022, her album 'I know you' was released, which included the singles 'De diepte in', 'I know you' and 'Goeie dag'.

Delise is currently touring the Netherlands with her solo tour 'Hidden stories'. New music will be released in 2024.
