Tango de Barrio alternates beautiful instrumental songs with the passionate vocals of Conchita. So you can enjoy El Niño by Astor Piazzola, but also La Cumparsita, a real traditional in the field of tango. Besides the tango, waltzes and milonga are also featured. While the tango was danced in the tango salons of Buenos Aires, the milonga was popular in the countryside. Nostalgia and passion are central!

When Tango de Barrio performs, the magic is palpable between the music and the audience: intimate, challenging and heartwarming. This ensemble performs with a nostalgic repertoire from the years 1900-1980
Compositions by Piazzolla, Pugliese and Troílo come to life through the playful and imaginative arrangements by bandeonist Pieter Thijssen. Singer Conchita actively involves the audience in the experience of the intense lyrics. With her deep, powerful voice she penetrates all hearts, through which universal feelings of passion, tenderness, jealousy and the transience of life are experienced together in the moment. Thus, in the 21st century, she gives her own voice to the tango as it originally arose in the patios, cafes, halls and brothels of Buenos Aires. A colourful mix of Africans, immigrants from Italy and Spain, gaucho's and seasonal workers. A performance of Singer Conchita with Tango de Barrio invites you to long and enjoy!
