From the moment guests arrive until the very last track, one musician spins the music all evening and picks up the trumpet exactly when needed. Deep house, Afro, Latin, and classics, building from a laid-back lounge vibe to a packed dance floor. No transitions, no lulls.
What Happens
During the reception and dinner, I play a laid-back mix: lounge, disco, and soul—quiet enough to hold a conversation. Once the room is full, I build up the energy on the dance floor with deep house, Afro house, Latin house, and classics everyone knows. At a few points during the evening, I’ll pick up my trumpet and play along live with whatever’s playing. Not the whole time—that’s exactly why it stands out. I play what I like and read the room. Request songs are welcome, as long as they fit the evening’s vibe.
Where I perform
A wedding or wedding reception, corporate party, staff party, Christmas party, anniversary, birthday, garden party, opening, or cocktail reception. Indoors and outdoors.

About me
I’m Evert Bal, and I DJ and perform as Joe Bailar. I’m a trumpeter and DJ from Krimpen aan den IJssel, with a background in classical, jazz, and roots music, and years of experience in the Dutch deep house scene. I’ve performed at Amsterdam Dance Event and De Doelen in Rotterdam, as well as for companies like D-Reizen and ANWB. I’ve now done over seventy gigs, ranging from a living room party to the anniversary celebration of a water sports club.
Tell me what kind of evening you have in mind and who’s coming. Then I’ll put together a program that fits the occasion.

It was a fun show—he performed his own songs, which was great to hear, and the audience was enthusiastic.

Booked Joe for our company party and had a top night. Everything went well in terms of communication as well. Joe adapted well to the party and also made requests. Definitely recommended

DJ Joe was very good! He created a good and relaxed atmosphere. The trumpet added something extra/special. DJ Joe played with us during a tennis tournament. There was still a lot of bubbling, chatting and playing tennis. Everyone loved it!
