Gypsy Jazz Guitarists Carlo Gentenaar and Mick Verweij play together in trio Duende and can also be booked as a duo. This acoustic guitar duo plays atmospheric and swinging background music. The warm, not overpowering character of the acoustic guitars makes this duo very suitable as musical accompaniment for weddings, company parties, get-togethers and receptions!
The repertoire of guitar acoustic guitar duo Duende is an anthology of gypsy jazz favorites from the oeuvre of Django Reinhardt & the Hot Club de France supplemented with swing and Latin jazz standards from the American songbook. Cheerful swing rhythms predominate and are alternated with inspired bossas, rhumbas, boleros and sometimes a waltz.
Duo Duende can perform completely acoustically if desired, but whenever possible we like to play slightly amplified to give a bit more spread to the sound, adjust the volumes of the instruments to each other and adjust the total volume if necessary. The acoustic character is maintained and conversations remain possible.
Because of the compact line-up and the acoustic character of the instruments, Duende is very suitable
as musical accompaniment for weddings, receptions, get-togethers, birthdays, wine tastings, company parties and other small-scale events. Amplified, the rousing rhythms on larger stages can also provide dancing pleasure at larger events such as markets, fairs, food truck festivals and, of course, music festivals.
Rhythm guitarist Mick Verweij is from Nijmegen and lead guitarist Carlo Gentenaar lives in Ede.
