A touch of Paris, a generous dose of swing!
Looking for music with atmosphere, swing, and character? The Marcia Bamberg Swing Quintet combines warm vocals with virtuoso guitar playing, double bass, and the beautiful sound of the violin. From atmospheric French chansons and romantic jazz to swinging classics: we create a stylish and energetic atmosphere—whether it’s a reception, dinner, or wedding, or a party, festival, or concert.
The Marcia Bamberg Swing Quintet brings a touch of Paris, a healthy dose of swing, and, above all, plenty of atmosphere! With warm vocals, virtuoso guitar playing, double bass, and violin, we perform music that is both stylish and energetic.
Our music is rooted in Gypsy jazz and swing, French chansons, and American jazz classics, in the tradition of Django Reinhardt. We give well-known songs our own unique, swinging twist. From the French classics “La Vie en Rose” and “C’est Si Bon” to well-known jazz and swing favorites like “Sway,” “Cheek to Cheek,” “L-O-V-E,” “Smile,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing (If You Ain’t Got That Swing).”
The expanded lineup with violin
The Marcia Bamberg Swing Quintet is
the expanded lineup of the Marcia Bamberg Swing Quartet, featuring Christiaan van Hemert on violin. His violin playing adds an extra dimension to the band’s warm, swinging sound and brings the music even closer to the atmosphere of the classic Hot Club de France.
The combination of vocals, two guitars, double bass, and violin creates a rich and lively sound. The music can provide a wonderfully atmospheric backdrop for a dinner or reception, but can just as easily evolve into an energetic performance that has the audience listening, swaying, and dancing.
International Experience
The Marcia Bamberg Swing Quintet consists of professional musicians with years of experience. The band has gained international experience at festivals and venues and, in 2026, performed for the fourth time at the Django Reinhardt Festival in Fontainebleau (France), the largest and oldest Gypsy Jazz festival in the world.

December 15th was a beautiful afternoon thanks to the performance of the Marcia Bamberg Swing Quartet. A musical masterpiece!

We enjoyed the beautiful and atmospheric Christmas concert 14 December in the polder museum in Heerhugowaard. The museum was very nicely decorated in the Christmas atmosphere. It was fantastic to see how all the people enjoyed it, not only the people in the room, but also the musicians themselves. The songs Marcia sang were cheerful and cozy. The accompaniment of her band was also fantastic. Marcia, Ronald, John and Daniel thank you for this beautiful evening.

In an atmospheric hall of De Brink in Obdam, Sunday the 15th of December, Marcia and 'her 3 men' put on a concert that was well listened to. It consisted of French and English-language well-known songs interspersed with carols. Everything in the new gipsy style.

Great, atmospheric evening with top musicians and the lived through beautiful voice of Marcia Bamberg. Gipsy Jazz, the way you like it. Great how Christmas hits and French chansons were arranged in the swinging style of Django Reinhardt. We can expect a lot from this Quartet!

15 December to a performance of the Marcia Bamberg Swing Quartet in the surprisingly beautiful hall in the Brink in Obdam. Great singer with humor and flair accompanied by 3 top musicians
, Poldermuseum
Completely immersed in a Christmas atmosphere, illuminated by hundreds of lights, we were treated to a dazzling performance by singer Marcia Bamberg and her three accompanists, Ronald Weel and John Ligthart on guitar and Daniël Gueli on double bass. With humour and charm she presented her swinging English and French classics in delicious up-tempo gypsy jazz, a style that has become known in the Netherlands through the Rosenberg Trio and Django Reinhardt, among others. Most of the repertoire of the Marcia Bamberg Swing Quartet originates from the '20s, '30s and '40s and was written for various musicals and films. Artists such as Fats Domino, Billy Holiday, The Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra, Yves Montand and Edith Piaf have made many of these songs world famous. The concert was sold out, although - probably due to the stormy weather - some seats remained empty. The enjoyment of the rest of the audience was no less.

A beautiful performance in the Lisette Hall of cultural centre De Brink in Obdam on Sunday, December 15. A beautiful ensemble of 4 musical friends, who alternately played gypsy-swing. Spoken by Marcia to each other it was a true theatre performance. The audience enjoyed the musicians and their playing

Marcia can sing beautifully and also has good contact with her audience, she makes it very personal. The guitar playing is also phenomenal and a perfect accompaniment to her voice. I enjoyed the performance on December 14th and will definitely go again.

Bought tickets for the Christmas concert in the Brink. No idea what to expect. But wow! Awesome. Marcia has a beautiful voice and the guitarists and double bass player complete the picture. Nice change from Gypsy swing and the Christmas songs
, Andy
Wonderful how they recreate existing classics and make it sound so that you keep listening captivated and at the same time loosely enjoy all those yummy gypsy sounds, even through the carols! Marcia's voice sounds like a clock and is nicely carried by the two guitarists and the double bass player. We had a very nice evening, happy holidays all! Greetings, Andy Boessen.

As if you could join them at home for an evening full of fun anecdotes, fun among themselves and fun in making music. The Christmas songs were refreshing in the gipsy jazz style, nicely interspersed with their regular set! Sitting down was not going to work, fortunately there was room for standing.

Marcia and her husband sang very beautifully at my All is Love Party, which I gave for my fiftieth birthday. I was deeply moved by the love songs she sang, accompanied by her husband's guitar playing ..... All those present at my party were that .... "What a beautiful voice" I heard a lot that night!

Sunday afternoon October 13th visited the Cool Jazz Festival in Heerhugowaard. I came especially for Marcia Bamberg and her Swing Quartet. They went in another direction, the Gipsy Jazz. It's clear to see that they enjoy it, it shines from their faces. I hope to be able to attend a longer performance soon and that will take me an hour drive.
