Birkit is an intuitive singer, theater artist, stand-up comedian, and improv expert.
When she was in Berlin, she saw so many cute bookstores there that she immediately envisioned herself writing songs about books! She pitched the idea at the first bookstore that caught her eye and was… booked ;)
Songs About Books was born.

She now collaborates with several musicians, including both guitarists and pianists. So you get to choose which instrument you want in your title song!

As an intuitive singer and improvisation expert, she knows exactly how to tune into the essence of your book and, together with a musician, creates a title song that perfectly captures your book—in one take!

Your book is your baby. And it’s about to go out into the world. So how awesome would it be to have your very own song about your book? The main goal of Songs About Books is to let your book be sung all over the world—and across as many store shelves as possible.

Have it uploaded to Spotify. That way, you can play it during radio and TV interviews. Or choose to feature it in your videos, Reels, and social media posts!

You’ll receive:
- a professional audio recording in MP3 format, recorded in the studio
- a video snippet of the chorus, recorded on a cell phone
- the lyrics transcribed afterward as a PDF
(because your song isn’t written with your head, but intuitively improvised/channeled.)

Are you hosting a book launch afterward and want your song played live there? That’s possible too!
And you can even choose to have a song created on the spot for each chapter. Or you can leave the book presentation entirely up to Birkit. Rietveld also collaborates with videographers to document your book launch and, if desired, create a music video.

Rietveld also creates these songs about books together with a musician, interacting with the audience in libraries and bookstores: visitors bring a book or choose one from the shelf, read a paragraph aloud, and Rietveld composes a song about it on the spot. This brings people closer together! And books are experienced in a whole new way.
