"Our laid-back and diverse jazz repertoire will make your event truly special!"
The All Jazz Band stands for quality in many ways. The music is rock-solid, the repertoire spans jazz from the 1920s to the present, and clients appreciate our professional presentation as well as our communication before, during, and after the event. We love to be part of the overall atmosphere and always adjust the volume to suit the situation or your preferences.
Our ensemble is versatile, ranging from a trio to a sextet. We provide the musical accompaniment for your event, which can range from club activities, (private) dinners, art openings, anniversaries, company get-togethers, and receptions to stage performances at a club, theater, festival, or similar venue.
With a lineup of experienced jazz musicians, we create the warm, inviting atmosphere that makes your event special. We play the upbeat jazz of The Ramblers, “classic” jazz tunes by greats like Miles Davis, Cole Porter, Thelonious Monk, Diana Krall, Catherine Russell, Gershwin, and Chet Baker, as well as more modern jazz by artists such as Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse. We cover all styles, from lounge and ballads to Latin, blues, and swing.
The band’s
lineup includes: piano, guitar, double bass, percussion, trumpet/flugelhorn, trombone, and saxophone.
Finally: we are not “hired hands”; we play purely for your enjoyment, ours, and that of your guests. For that reason, we charge a fee to cover our expenses. That’s also why we’re flexible regarding the duration of our performance.
Please feel free to contact us to explore the possibilities based on your wishes. You can also do so using the built-in chat feature on this site. See you soon!

Cozy band, made our party a great night. Very nice!

communication with Ivo, the combo's contact person, was excellent! Fairly shortly beforehand, I had asked him if they could play during the reception. He immediately responded enthusiastically and quickly managed to reach out to his band members and clear the date for us. We had thought of creating a song for the party pigs. We managed to get good accompaniment from the band in this. The agreement was that the combo would not play too loud, because it would be very crowded during the reception and people also had to have a chance to hear each other. I was a bit worried, but it worked out fine! I'm glad we opted for live music, because the nice background music made it very cozy!

The opening of the art event at Golf Club Zeewolde brought together everything that makes this exhibition so special: Art by members, for members, carried by a warm sense of belonging. This did not only apply to the exhibited works, but also to the musical entertainment, provided by the versatile All Times Jazz combo led by Ivo van Scherpenzeel, two members of which are themselves members of the golf club (Marc and Ivo). The combo was well-balanced. The rhythm section with Marc van Zoelen on drums, Ivo van Scherpenzeel on double bass, Kees Ploeger on keys and Harold Lenselink on guitar laid a solid and tasteful foundation. The drummer kept the playing subtle and supportive, with just enough dynamics to let the room breathe. The double bass provided warmth and depth, while keyboard and guitar complemented each other nicely: alternately rhythmically supporting and melodically coloring. On top of that, the horn section with Fred Dekker on saxophone, Ron van der Knaap on trumpet/bugelhorn and Hans Peter Herwig on trombone provided character and flair. The arrangements sounded neat, with room for individual expression without the whole losing its coherence. The alternation between trumpet and flugelhorn gave extra nuance, from bright and sparkling to warm and round, while the trombone and saxophone provided a rich, layered sound. A special role was reserved for Marjolein van der Veen with vocals and flute. Her singing added a beautiful atmosphere that matched the artistic setting. When she took up the flute, the music took on a light, almost painterly quality that perfectly matched the viewing of the works of art. All in all, the combo provided a stylish and atmospheric opening: musicianship without obtrusiveness, with respect for both the art and the audience. A successful start to an event in which members were able to share not only their work, but also their talents.
