Playing the vibrant Parisian jazz of the 1930s, The Lyrebirds Collective brings the warm, swinging and uplifting sound of Django Reinhardt to life! Performing as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet, we bring the swing to your thing!

The Lyrebirds are a young and energetic Jazz Manouche collective from the Netherlands, bringing the warm, swinging sound of Django Reinhardt and the Parisian jazz scene of the 1930s to life. We combine authentic Jazz Manouche (gypsy jazz) with a broad repertoire of swing jazz, bossa nova, bolero, musette, jazz standards and our own compositions. Our music can be lively and rhythmic, but also intimate and atmospheric, making our sound versatile and suitable for many types of occasions and venues -such as concerts, festivals, restaurants, bars, private events, and other gatherings.

The Lyrebirds are a gipsy jazz collective and community of musicians rather than a fixed band. Depending on your venue, event and musical preferences, we can work together to create the preferred setup for your occasion. This can range from an intimate duo of two guitars to a trio, quartet or quintet, with additional musicians on double bass, accordion, violin, piano, saxophone or clarinet.

We can perform both acoustically and amplified. For larger or amplified settings, we can bring our own equipment to the venue in consultation. The repertoire and duration of the performance can also be adapted to the atmosphere and programme of your event.

Our standard rate is €50 per hour per musician, excluding travel expenses and gear. Because our collective works with different musicians and formations, the total price depends on the chosen line-up, playing time and any additional technical requirements.

The Lyrebirds are led by guitarists Lars van Teeffelen, Seba Strings & Lucy Geelen and are built around a shared passion for Jazz Manouche, improvisation and playing together. We are flexible, professional young musicians.
