The Story of Likke Pehp

Sometimes, the smallest ideas can turn into something extraordinary. In the summer of 2024, a group of friends from Volendam decided to create a special song for the town's annual fair. Inspired by the Limburg carnival hit Vandaag by W-DREEJ, they wrote BLIKKENDAG.

The song tells the story of the COVID-19 lockdown period, when young people could no longer meet in bars. Instead, they gathered at Slobbeland with a can of beer in hand. Sung in the Volendam dialect, the relatable lyrics immediately resonated with listeners and quickly became the unofficial fair anthem of 2024.

The success soon spread far beyond Volendam. Together with Sven Versteeg, the group released a Dutch-language version of BLIKKENDAG, introducing the song to audiences across the Netherlands. It became a staple in bars, festival tents, and party venues nationwide. One of the highlights of their career came with their performance at the Muziekfeest van het Jaar by AVROTROS Sterren NL, where thousands of fans enthusiastically sang along.

Since then, Likke Pehp has become one of the most sought-after party acts for events throughout the Netherlands.
