Interactive puppet show about a gruff pirate and a curious little boy.
Based on the well-known picture book by Ingrid and Dieter Schubert.

The grumbling pirate Woeste Willem thinks it's all right to be alone. But everything changes when he meets the little boy Frank.

Together they find all kinds of old treasures in Willem's chest, and he tells the wildest stories about them. But when the boy himself wants to build a new ship with Willem, the pirate suddenly doesn't seem to be so keen on adventure anymore. What is going on? Has Willem really experienced all those adventures?

A touching and funny discovery about friendship, trust and daring to open up to others.

The story is told in an interactive way using hand puppets and a storytelling box, which resembles a little theater. The performance is very interactive, children are constantly invited to join in the story. Can be played both indoors and (in good weather) outdoors.


There are two options for ending the performance:

The Story of Savage William - duration: 35-40 minutes
- Complete puppet show, where the show ends where the story ends.

Woeste Willem + New Adventures - duration: 60-70 minutes
- The story has an open ending. Each child in the audience gets to invent and draw their own new adventure for Frank and William. All new adventures are collected in the story box, and then the show continues where the story left off!
