Interactive puppet show about a gruff pirate and a curious little boy.
Based on the well-known picture book by Ingrid and Dieter Schubert.

The grumbling pirate Wild Willem is perfectly fine with being alone. But everything changes when he meets the little boy Frank.

Together, they find all kinds of old treasures in Willem’s chest, and he tells the wildest stories about them. But when the boy wants to build a new ship with Willem himself, the pirate suddenly doesn’t seem so eager for adventure anymore. What’s going on? Did Willem really experience all those adventures?

A touching and funny journey of discovery about friendship, trust, and daring to open up to others.

The story is told in an interactive way using hand puppets and a storytelling box that resembles a small theater. The performance is very interactive; children are constantly invited to experience the story firsthand. It can be performed both indoors and (weather permitting) outdoors.

Now also available with the “New Adventures” option:
The story has an open ending. Each child in the audience gets to come up with and draw a new adventure for Frank and Willem. All the new adventures are collected in the storytelling box, and then the performance continues where the story left off! (This extra activity lasts approximately 25 minutes)
