Few singers have such a long career as Anita Meyer. It all started in 1976 when her breakthrough came with the single ' The Alternative Way'. This song became her first No. 1 single but certainly not her last. In the same
year she was declared the most popular singer in the Netherlands, thanks to the success of 'The alternative way'.
A few years later the album ' Shades of desire' followed with the legendary single ' Why Tell Me Why?'. This song caused Anita to occupy the No. 1 spot in the charts for weeks. It also became the best-selling single of 1981! The success of the album caused Anita to come up with even more hits: ' They Don't Play Our Lovesong Anymore' and ' Blame It On Love' are some examples of successful songs from that period
However, the success of ' Why Tell Me Why' remains unparalleled, even in Sweden and France covers of it were made that reached high positions in the top 40.
In 1986, a collaboration with Lee Towers was released; ' Run to me'. This is a cover of the Bee Gees. This song gave Anita her last top 10 listing. She also sang 'Het Spijt Me', the opening tune for the television program of the same name.
In 2005, Anita served as team captain of the popular television program: 'Het Gevoel Van...'. She also played the role of Grizabella in the musical Cats
We are now a few years further and Anita is still performing, She is a popular artist at major concerts such as Toppers in Concert and Holland Zingt Hazes. Anita is also the only artist who participated twice in 'Best Singers' and was the winner of season three

We had booked Anita for our event and this was a great success. She came fully prepared, everything was arranged in terms of technique and it was a successful performance. After the performance she also took the time to take a picture with some guests.
