In a story that almost feels like history repeating itself, Michael was given the chance to follow in the footsteps of his idol. Just as Engelbert Humperdinck was invited by none other than Dean Martin to perform a duet on national television in the 1960s, Michael was accorded a similar honor. On June 24, 2017, his mentor and personal friend Engelbert Humperdinck invited him on stage during his “Worldwide 50th Anniversary Tour” at the Stadsschouwburg in Antwerp. Together they sang “Dommage Dommage,” an unforgettable moment in which Michael distinguished himself as the first—and only—Belgian artist ever to sing a duet with “The King of Romance.”
