Boef broke through in 2015 with his legendary Spitsession at Zonamo Underground. He introduced himself to the Netherlands with a rock hard freestyle over the beat of the song ' Araab Styles ' of Styles P (produced by Araab Muzik). Meanwhile, this freestyle has been viewed millions of times on Youtube! Boef, who was just released at the time, started going viral on blogs like Puna and ParraTV. Leading up to his debut EP "Gewoon Boef," the rapper created a buzz for himself by releasing vlogs. This worked out well: All of the Netherlands knew who rapper Boef was and everyone had an opinion about him.

In 2017, Boef launched his debut album called Sleep Shortage . With Ali B as his manager, Boef managed to turn all the negativity from his past into positivity. Thus, both his single Habiba and album Slaaptekort debuted at number 1!
