Madelon takes you into a world of imagination and wonder, with traditional Portuguese music and some other musical narratives of destiny. Personal testimonies intertwine with music and visual projections, giving the music its depth and meaning. With her musical accompanists, she creates an enchanting interplay in which song and accompaniment carry and enhance each other. An almost therapeutic musical program that touches you in heart and soul.
Fado means 'fate'. Is our life determined by fate? By what happens to us, by what is given to us in our mother's womb or by God? Or do we create our own path with our free will? 'Fado' tells about being human, desire, lust, mourning, madness, vulnerability, joy and gratitude.

hopeful program that also fits very well with conferences and events about care issues, mental health, happiness in life and the position of women.
Madelon Ravenhorst has been singing all her life. She studied jazz for 3 years at DJAM Amsterdam, and continued to develop herself in jazz, world and pop music. She received lessons from Caroline Lobanov, Justin Binek, Kristen Cornwell, Fay Claassen, among others, and coaching from Bert van den Brink and Gé Bijvoet, among others. She made her debut on the theater circuit in 2022. After a sad period, she took fado lessons with Magda Mendes. She brought her into contact with classical guitarist and fado connoisseur Hans van Gelderen.

Madelon Ravenhorst gave a fantastic Fado Concert in Theater De Fransche School in Culemborg. Together with Bert van den Brink and Hans van Gelderen, two grandiose musicians, they brought the more than 100 visitors under the spell of moving and inspiring fado music for 1.5 hours. I hope to see them more often in De Fransche School and otherwise in a theater elsewhere in the country!

I was deeply impressed by the beautiful and inspiring performance of Madelon with her two fantastic musicians, on Sunday, February 2, 2025 in the theater De Fransche School in Culemborg. Her beautiful voice, the way she managed to connect her singing with sharing sometimes very personal experiences, I found incredibly clever. It also touched me especially because it was so pure and full of life wisdom.
