A folk band with a unique sound. Do you love country, folk, Americana and Irish sing-alongs? Then attend a show by The Shannons and you'll be in for a treat. With music by the likes of Dolly Parton, The Pogues, Dropkick Murphy's, Johnny Cash, Mumford & Sons, The Dubliners and many more.
Noel and Lynn Shannon have performed together for years throughout Germany, Denmark, Norway and Sweden as musicians on the Irish music circuit. Coincidentally, they have both been lovers of country music since childhood. So it has long been a great desire to form a band around country music and their other musical favorite, Irish folk.
They love to take a foray into, say, a well-known song like Jambalaya or Hello Mary Lou in addition to the many familiar Irish tunes.
Since 2022, Paddy Ryan joined the band from time to time (ex "Seven Drunken Nights") The 3 had a good musical click and the banjo virtuoso is now a fixture in the band.
Noel Shannon (IRL); Vocals, guitar, mandolin.
Born and raised in
Cork, Ireland and thus grew up with Irish music. Emigrated to the Netherlands in 1993 and has always been active as a musician in the Netherlands as well.
Lynn Shannon (NL); Vocals, guitar, mandolin.
Lynn is from the Hanseatic city of Deventer. She started making music at age 14 and hasn't stopped since. Her voice is reminiscent of that of Janis Joplin and Alanis Morissette. And besides that, her voice has a very suitable sound for ... country music!
Paddy Ryan (IRL); Banjo, electric guitar, bass guitar, harmonies.
Paddy Ryan, like Noel, is from Ireland has years of experience in the music business and is a key member of The Shannons. He has been part of the theater show "Seven Drunken Nights" a tribute to the Dubliners as a banjo player for many years and has toured Europe with it.
The Shannons invite you to sing and dance along and enjoy giving an unforgettable experience. Sitting still is not an option!
