Winter. Short days, early darkness, bleak weather. That's when you long for warmth, coziness, and the sparkle of Christmas. That's precisely what Remco van de Weerdt brings with Wet Christmas – an intimate song program full of Dutch-language chansons that evoke the spirit of Christmas.
Together with Michelle Courtens (vocals and cello) and Hubert-Jan Horrocks (piano), Remco sings works by Rob de Nijs, Liesbeth List, Ramses Shaffy, and Benny Neyman, among others. Alongside well-known songs, there are also some lesser-known gems.
"Longing for peace and security is a universal theme. In the repertoire of my favorite artists, I found songs that touch on that theme and that I love to sing," says Remco. "Songs
with a message, sometimes with a nod to Christmas, and still relevant today."
He also sings several heartwarming songs written especially for him – often about love.
