Remco Sings Heartwarming Songs in Cold Weather

Winter. Short days, early darkness, bleak weather. That’s when you long for warmth, coziness, and the sparkle of Christmas. That’s exactly what Remco van de Weerdt brings with *Natte Kerst*—an intimate song program filled with Dutch-language chansons that capture the Christmas spirit.

Together with Michelle Courtens (vocals and cello) and Hubert-Jan Horrocks (piano), Remco performs songs by artists such as Rob de Nijs, Liesbeth List, Ramses Shaffy, and Benny Neyman. In addition to well-known songs, the program also features some hidden gems.

“The longing for peace and security is a universal theme. In the repertoires of my favorite artists, I found songs that explore this theme and that I’d love to sing,” says Remco. “Songs with a message, sometimes with a nod to Christmas, and still relevant today.”

He also sings a few heartwarming songs written especially for him—often about love.
