For Country Festivals, parties, weddings or sad farewells, I'm your man. On the road for many years, over 11 million streams and lots of songs in my repertoire. Furthermore, I have won an award at the Red Carpet Award Show Europe and have been nominated at several organizations in the USA

Johan Smits aka John Smyths.
I was born in March 1961 in the old center of Nijmegen and was introduced to the world of music by my parents and older brother. It was natural country that I started singing again. The feeling for this kind of music doesn't disappear when you grow up with it.
For my work we had to move to Germany, where we live in the beautiful Hunsrück region. I decided to go to the studio regularly to record covers of well-known country songs, even recorded two songs of my own and was on stage several times. I was in Bonn, Brussels (at "The Egg"), Hillesheim, Morbach, Lubbock Town (Lommersum) and many more. After one of my performances, at the 1st Country Night Linnich Ederen, I received positive reviews from Keep it Country Magazine, among others. I recently created my own website ##### Even before I started singing country, I had heard of George Strait, Alan Jackson and Chris Stapleton. And I'm a big fan of Hal Ketchum, who died much too soon.
About my own songs:
- one is called "Holes in my Brain" and was released in 2021 in collaboration with some well-known musicians such as Karl Schulz, Jürgen Schulz (owner of the studio) and Wolfgang Thiel.
- the other is called "Cowboys Never Cry" and was recently (2023) released in collaboration with Steve Lee Jefferson and Jürgen Lippmann.
Since 2024 I have been working a lot with Fred Weidler and we have been on the road together a lot. In 2024 I was also on stage at the Country Fair in Erfurt, where I also did a radio interview with Radio Goldstar. In November there was a radio interview in Luxembourg, on Radio RGL, which was televised in early 2025.
A trip to Nashville is scheduled for 2026, for studio recordings. I entered the country Charts for independent Artists Top 100 in April 2026 at position 92 with my latest song "Last Night" for which I received many good reviews. I have also been nominated again at various American Country organizations. Also, in late June, from America, a Best Texas Country Picks (Volume 9) CD is coming out, wasrop includes my single "Last Night".
