A table with markers, stickers, glitter, and a real button-making machine. Kids draw their own designs, place them in the machine, and press their own buttons. Two minutes later, they walk away with a button on their shirt—and every kid who sees it wants one, too. The workshop fills up on its own.

The button workshop is a drop-in activity. Children come over, design their button, and make it themselves using the button machine. There’s no set start time, and no need to wait for a group. That makes it ideal for events where visitors are free to walk around.

How it works at an event
The button machine attracts children—the mechanism is fascinating to watch. They sit down, draw their design, and press their own button. After two to five minutes, they walk away with a button on their shirt. That’s when the workshop really takes off: other kids see the button, want one too, and join in.
Parents stand by, watch, and chat. This creates a peaceful, creative spot in a busy venue—children are occupied for a while, and parents get a chance to relax.

How It Works
One facilitator sits at the table and helps as needed. The materials are laid out: round drawing sheets, markers, stickers, glitter, and a professional button-making machine. Children design their own buttons and operate the machine themselves (with assistance). Up to twelve children can sit at the table at once.
Themed buttons are an option: design pre-printed templates based on your event’s theme so children can color them in and personalize them. Think of a village festival with local images, a company event featuring the logo, or a seasonal theme.
The facilitator ensures a calm, inviting atmosphere. Everything is provided: materials, button machine, work tables, and colorful decorations.
