With his 6-piece formation SoulNL, saxophonist and singer Derick Stadwijk introduces a new sound, in which numerous well-known Dutch classics are given a soul makeover. Just hear how Guus Meeuwis cross-pollinates with Curtis Mayfield.

Derick and SoulNL is a collective that plays Dutch classics inspired by the American Soul and Funk tradition with influences from contemporary Hip-Hop and R&B.
With this crossover of musical styles, SoulNL has created a unique sound and has given the Netherlands a new sound.
As befits true Soul, singer and saxophonist Derick Stadwijk is not about the music alone. SoulNL stands for a way of thinking, a way of life.
