What better way to start your event than with the hardest grooves, banging beats and sparkling solos? Mothersfonk is the newest funk sensation from the Netherlands. Inspired by the 'godfather of soul', they give funk their own interpretation and contemporary sound.
The funk collective with the hardest grooves and most years of experience. MOTHERSFONK is the new funk sensation from NL, based in Rotterdam. The eight-member formation brings a rousing mix of funk and hip-hop, characterized by deep pocket grooves interspersed with tight breaks and virtuoso solo work.
Inspired by the "godfather of soul," they give funk, their own interpretation and contemporary sound.
The band members have each individually gained experience in diverse performing bands and collaborations with such well-known names as Joseph Bowie (Defunkt), Shirma Rouse, Fred Wesley, Jamal Thomas Band (drummer Maceo Parker), Focus, Living blues experience, Miko Weaver (guitarist Prince), Nile Rodgers Tribute Band and Loïs Lane.
MOTHERSFONK comes into its own at jazz festivals, pop festivals, world music festivals,
in tiny clubs and giant stages.
