Jody Bernal was born on November 12, 1981 in Bogotá, Colombia. When he was almost three months old, he was adopted by a Dutch family and grew up in the city of Delft. As everyone in the Netherlands probably knows, he scored a huge No. 1 hit at the age of 18 with the remake of the Argentine summer song "Que Si, Que No. To this day, this song is still the longest-running No. 1 hit in Dutch music history: a whopping 15 weeks! Several hits followed, such as 'Oh Bambolero', 'Un Beso Mas', 'Me and You', 'Dreams' and 'Chica Bonita'. He received numerous awards and gold records for these songs. Thanks to his success, Jody has been a familiar face for many years.

As a young and troubled artist, he was often in the media, both positively and negatively. As Jody's interest in house music grew, he began producing his own music. Through discipline and perseverance, he taught himself the craft of music production. His preference was music for clubs and festivals. He began spinning as a familiar face and was soon embraced by the Amsterdam club scene. He started as a resident DJ at the trendy, gay-friendly club NYX in Amsterdam. Here, people began to notice his DJ talent and rediscovered his qualities as a performer. Jody's eclectic sound, a popular mix of house, disco and all-time hits, made him sought after by event organizers throughout the Netherlands.

Jody Bernal has since built an impressive list of events where he has performed, including Valtifest Festival, Solar Festival, Bungalup, Freshtival, Wish Outdoor, Amsterdams Verbond and many more.

He also started his own club concept, "Sjiek de Friemel," which is now a popular event in three major cities in the Netherlands. He has shaken off all the clichés of a "child pop star" and has become a cult DJ personality in the vibrant Dutch club scene. As a DJ and vocalist, all the hard work in his renewed career is starting to pay off. His recent release "La Colegiala," a collaboration with The Boy Next Door and Fresh Coast, is dominating the charts in several countries. With more than 9 million streams on Spotify, 3 million views on YouTube and a No. 5 position in the official Dutch charts, it is clear that this song became the summer hit of 2017. By scoring such a big hit and showing his dedication, Jody is working his way back to the top, right where he belongs.
