Biography Gerry Holland
His first single "Als jij maar van mij houdt" was played with great regularity by the DJs of the time such as Krijn Torringa, Gerard de Vries, Wil Luikinga, Peter Teekamp and Bart van Leeuwen. In 2006, Gerry released the single "Ik ben terug." The production was well received, but partly due to private circumstances, it was not possible to build on that success. It remained very quiet around him for two years...
In 2012, Gerry Holland took the plunge and contacted well-known producers Emile Hartkamp and Norus Padidar. His message was clear: "I want to sing about my city, I want songs from the days when Mokum with Tante Leen and Johnny Jordaan sang so beautifully about
the Westertoren and Johan Cruyff was invincible. Songs that make people happy and that we can laugh about and not have to think about the daily worries we have to deal with a lot lately. This was music to the ears of the producers and the result can be heard on the beautiful album "Jij bent alles voor mij".
With his single "Vier Een Feestje Met Mij" he sings an upbeat song that immediately invites you to sing along. Gerry Holland - or Gerry Berghoef for his friends - is best known for "Laat De Hele Boel Maar Waaien" and other hits like "Meisjes Van Het Leven". The composition of "Vier Een Feestje Met Mij" again comes from the illustrious Kees Tel hit studio in Helmond. Kees is best known for his productions for Gerard Joling and for the "Luizenmoeder". Kees also plays the stars from heaven on this hit, all with his own instruments. In 2022 Gerry was also featured in the popular TV program "Lang Leve De Liefde" of SBS6/Talpa. In 2023 he re-released the song "Er is een Amsterdammer doodgegaan" in a faster format. and his last song "Een afscheidsbrief" was released in 2024. This one was again produced by Emiel Hartkamp.
