Biography:

Douwe Bob Posthuma, born and raised in Amsterdam, comes from a creative family. His father, Simon Posthuma, was an artist and member of the famous artist group "The Fool," who worked for The Beatles, among others. Douwe began playing music at an early age: at the age of six he received his first piano lessons and later added guitar and voice to his repertoire. His musical career began with classical music, but he soon discovered his love for jazz and decided to focus entirely on writing his own songs.

Douwe Bob finds his influences in the big names of music history, from Bob Dylan to Johnny Cash, and this is evident in his own work. In 2012 he participated in the TV program De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland and won the program, which marked his breakthrough. Right after his victory Douwe released his first single 'Multicoloured Angels', followed by the successful debut album Born in a Storm.

In the years that followed, Douwe Bob released several albums, including Pass It On (2015), featuring the hit "Hold Me" along with Anouk. His international fame grew when he represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 with the song "Slow Down. In recent years, he released new music including the hit 'This World Is Our Home' and was featured on the popular TV show Best Singers. With a new album in 2024 and a club tour coming up, Douwe Bob continues to innovate himself and surprise the musical world.
