‘Het was muisstil’, hoorde ik ze zeggen. Een hele ontspannen en prikkelarme sfeer met mooie luisterliedjes en verhalende teksten van Boudewijn de Groot, tot Willeke Alberti en Herman van Veen.

I prefer to play Dutch folk music in which situations from everyday life are sketched, but which also recall life at that time. The melancholy and nostalgia from 'het Dorp' or 'Morgen ben ik de Bruid' by Willeke Alberti, make memories so tangible and it often doesn't take long before stories come to the surface about one's own wedding, village or family history.

I also sing old classics like 'Daar bij de Molen', 'de Klok van Arnemuiden' and 'daarbij de waterkant'.

Songs from the past often make the zeitgeist unmistakably clear, that in combination with the rich use of the Dutch language and interesting harmonies, make me a passionate lover of the old Dutch song.

All in all, a relaxing and interesting afternoon of music.
