Born with Caribbean roots and raised in the south of the Netherlands, Robert van Es, better known as Gunz
Desperado, has always had a deep passion for hip-hop, reggae and dancehall. From a young age, he was inspired by the music
of iconic artists such as Rakim, 2Pac, Dr. Dre, Beenie Man and Bob Marley. These influential musical styles have formed the basis
for his own unique sound and artistic expression.
At the age of 16, Robert discovered his talent for rap by covering songs by legendary artists. This led
eventually to the co-founding of the Dutch group "DutchMasterz." While being inspired by the greats in
the scene, Robert found his own style of rapping, rhyming and writing lyrics.
Continually honing his skills, he began working with producer Three Dee (formerly Triple D). This
resulted in several collaborations and remixes, including with artists such as Usher and Wayne Wonder.
Robert's growing reputation as an artist led to performances across Europe, where he had the opportunity to share the stage with
icons such as:

In addition, Gunz Desperado has a strong connection to the community. He has given several workshops in cooperation
with Gemeente Tilburg for students of Fontys Hogeschool and the ROC Sportopleidingen, inspiring and
supported.
