An impressive musical and visual tribute to Vera Lynn, specially designed for commemorations, ceremonies, museums, exhibitions, and historical events. With her warm live vocals and unique 1940s costumes, Miss Helena brings the nostalgia of the war years to life.
Invite the audience to reflect on freedom and hope with the beautiful “The White Cliffs of Dover” and sing along to the unforgettable “We’ll Meet Again.” Vera Lynn’s timeless music still evokes many memories and emotions and creates a musical moment of respite at a historical or ceremonial event.
A key part of the performance is Miss Helena’s handmade “liberation skirt,” inspired by the liberation skirts that Dutch women made after World War II. It’s a unique costume that consistently elicits enthusiastic reactions from the audience and visually brings history to life. Miss Helena has several costumes inspired by the 1940s and the music of Vera Lynn. Any costume changes give each musical moment its own atmosphere and help tell
the story through fashion as well.
Perfect as a musical accompaniment for:
Commemorations, ceremonies, liberation events, veterans’ events, World War II events, museums, exhibitions, lectures, and other historical events.
The Vera Lynn tribute can be flexibly incorporated into the program. Choose a single central musical moment or spread several songs throughout the program. Upon request, Miss Helena can also appear in her liberation skirt during, for example, a reception, photo op, or ceremonial segment.
In 2025, Miss Helena released the EP *Bluebirds*, a tribute to Vera Lynn, and in this tribute she combines her own renditions of Vera Lynn’s most famous repertoire with original music inspired by her life. Through her performances and EP, Miss Helena’s mission is to introduce Vera Lynn’s music and story to new generations and keep her legacy alive. The EP has now been streamed tens of thousands of times.
The musical performance is accompanied by professional backing tracks. Live musical accompaniment is also possible, depending on availability.
