MAYA is een poëtische singer-songwriter en verhalenverteller die indie-folk, klassieke invloeden en spoken word verweeft tot intieme songs. Met haar warme zang en scherpe teksten creëert ze een wereld vol troost, confrontatie en rauwe schoonheid. Perfect voor luisterconcerten, festivals en bijzondere gelegenheden.

MAYA is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter, storyteller and multidisciplinary artist from Utrecht, the Netherlands. She weaves indie-folk with classical influences, spoken word and warm vocals into intimate, poetic songs. In her perceptive lyrics, in Dutch and English, she seeks beauty in rawness and hope in melancholy. Her music offers comfort, confrontation and recognition and invites listeners to self-reflection and expression.

She graduated from the Utrecht Conservatory of Music in 2023. She played on stages such as ESNS, TivoliVredenburg, Sofar Sounds and Theater Orpheus, was support act for Ciao Lucifer and was awarded and nominated by Kunstbende Utrecht, ILFU and the International Young Songwriter Competition, among others. Her debut EP For Those Who Hope will be released on September 12, 2025.

With her gentle power and sincere performance, she is the ideal artist for intimate settings. Think listening concerts, theater festivals, literary evenings, weddings and dinners where authenticity and intimacy are key.

She accompanies herself on piano and guitar and can bring her own sound equipment. She plays a mix of her own work and covers and can tailor it to the needs of the booker. She can also play in duo with double bass and vocals for an extra rich sound.
