Paul de Leeuw's music career is as impressive as his television and theater work. He has released several albums ranging from humorous to emotional songs.
Paul de Leeuw is a versatile Dutch entertainer who has achieved fame as a television presenter, comedian, cabaret artist, actor and singer. In addition to his success on television, he has built an impressive music career that makes him a beloved artist in the Netherlands.
De Leeuw was born in Rotterdam-Feijenoord and grew up in a Protestant family. He grew up partly in Rotterdam and soon the family moved to Ridderkerk-Rijsoord, where he attended kindergarten and one year of elementary school, and then to Lekkerkerk,[1] where he attended several elementary schools. He went to mavo at Krimpenerwaard in Krimpen a/d IJssel, better known as Krimpenerwaard College after the merger with the Diederik van Alkemade mavo in 1992, and later got
his havo diploma there. After havo, De Leeuw attended teacher training in Delft. Here he discovered his artistic talents. He applied for the Toneelacademie Maastricht, but did not pass the selection.
In 1983, De Leeuw participated in Cameretten in Delft, where he received the personality prize. A year later, he presented the festival. In 1985 he was the opening act at the Open Bak Gala at the Royal Theater Carré on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Theater De Engelenbak. He sang the song Fly with me. Thanks in part to the enthusiastic response from the audience, De Leeuw received an invitation to perform on Sonja Barend's program.
